Getting Involved with Artists in the Decatur Alabama Community

I am a big believer in participating in community art! I've recently joined Decatur, Alabama's Local Color Tuesday night painting group. For those of you who don't know, Local Color is an art studio in downtown Decatur. Here, artists can rent spaces to further their artistic talents or, like me, pay $25/per month to paint with local artists on Tuesday nights. This is a great way to grow artistically and meet new people. You can also sell your art at Local Color (Local color takes only 15% of your commission). I really feel bringing art into the community is very important. I've lived in both locations that support the arts and neglect them. I can tell you that there is a huge impact on the culture in the area when the community supports the arts. I thought I'd share some photos from my Local Color Group. I hope to see new faces at Local Color!
