Starting an Adventure

How does the saying go? Life is an adventure?

Well, I definitely agree!

Over the past few years, I have been digging deep. I’ve been trying to find what I am truly passionate about artistically. Those of you who have followed me from the very beginning (First of all THANK YOU!) know this. One of the greatest struggles I think artist’s face is trying to find their niche. I look at some of these renowned artists on Instagram and it looks like it came so easily to them. Almost like a vivid prophetic dream in the night. Of course, that’s not the case!

A little over a year ago I discovered Dungeons and Dragons (D&D), and I have fallen in love. I feel like it’s SO misunderstood by people who have never played before. In short? D&D is storytelling with your friends. It’s like sitting down with your friends and reading a ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ book together where everything is made up and spontaneous.

Ok. So. What am I getting at?

I’m starting a new adventure. As of last month, my husband and I have started Ink and Lyre. Why? I know it’s VERY different from anything I have ever done, but that’s what I truly love doing. I want to be true to myself. Don’t worry! I will still offer my freelance services If you are in need of logo design, web design, book illustration, or invitation illustration. I’ll be more than happy to consider those projects in my work queue.

I simply wanted to share my new adventure with you all!

Final Thoughts

I know this direction is VERY VERY different from what my current audience is used to. I’ll probably lose some followers in this transition. Nonetheless, I’d like to take a minute to thank you all for following me on my journey. Thank you for your support and believing in me. I am so grateful for each and every one of you! If you decide to continue to follow me on this journey, THANK YOU!! If you decide this is where we part ways, I still appreciate the time you took out of your day to follow me! Thank you so much!

I encourage you to visit the Ink and Lyre website or Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter!
